It can be seen or practiced as any routines or rituals encompassing a natural diet, spiritual practice, mental exercise, physical exercise, and environmentally safe practices that are followed to improve one’s overall health and well being. The choices are unique to individual taste, religion, and lifestyle routines. By choosing to live a more holistic lifestyle, you can empower yourself to live a more vibrant life filled with joy, good health, and spiritual well being. This simple concept will transform your life for the better.

Almost any article about holistic living will discuss a diet rich in organic natural foods and supplements and one void of processed foods, sugars, and unhealthy fats. Natural foods are considered to be vegetables, fruits, nuts, whole grains, meats, juices, herbs, and herbal teas. It is all about the freshness! You can imagine the creative possibilities for a healthy diet based on individual taste or preferences. Good nutrition is the foundation of a healthy body and a strong defense against many health ailments, such as obesity, hypertension, heart disease, diabetes, cancer, and much more.

Exercise for holistic health can come in many forms as well. Whether it’s yoga, running, walking, weight training, martial arts, cycling, or something else, the choices again are up to you. The health benefits of exercise speak for themselves. Enhancing our mental health, exercise aids in relieving stress and helps the body to burn fat, build muscle, and to increase lung capacity, all of which helps us to age more gracefully and reduces our risks to disease!

A healthy mind is a reflection of our emotional state and physical well being. Perceptions and our own outlooks have a direct effect on our perceived reality. Optimism is far superior to pessimism for obvious reasons. Thoughts are energy and energy becomes manifested in many forms. It is feeling the sense of a greater spiritual source that is there for us. It is that special metaphysical feeling if you will. The term metaphysics in today’s world has come to represent and include many topics. It embodies questions like:

Is there a God or spirit world? Who am I? Why am I here? What is the meaning of life? Is there an afterlife? What is reality? How do people and nature interact and why?

It is through these questions that one works through the philosophy of metaphysics and it depends on one’s personal preferences and intuitions as to what metaphysical sources, methods and tools he or she uses to try and answer them. It is a personal quest of spirituality.
